There Is No Miracle Cure for Insomnia

On YouTube and in books, there are countless ads promising things like “This is the cause of insomnia!” “Just do this and it will be cured instantly!” “5 habits of people who suffer from insomnia!” Many of these messages are delivered in an authoritative tone, as if the speaker is the savior of all insomnia sufferers.

Of course, I didn’t blindly believe these words, but with a sense of desperation, I tried as much as I could. However, none of it worked. The people behind these messages likely aren’t trying to deceive anyone, nor do they intend to lie. But the fact is, what works for some doesn’t always work for everyone. Anyone who knows the agony of insomnia knows that they would be willing to endure almost any hardship or suffering to overcome it.

Some people proudly proclaim that “You should look at the sun first thing in the morning,” but compared to the agony of insomnia, such habits seem trivial. If someone suffering from insomnia could solve their problem by doing that, they would have already done it. No one would still be struggling.

Those truly suffering from insomnia have tried all the simple things. They wake up and drink warm water, go for walks, do muscle training, cut out caffeine, soak in a bath every day, and try falling asleep while smelling lavender essential oil. Yet, they still can’t sleep.

The point here is that people who are genuinely struggling with insomnia are not avoiding simple methods; they have tried them all, and they still can’t find relief. That’s what makes their struggle so deep and persistent. The frustration isn’t from avoiding easy solutions; it’s from trying everything they can, only to find that nothing works.
